In Romans 12:2 the Apostle Paul says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” “Conformed” would refer to someone who inaccurately reflects on the outside who they claim to be on the inside. Last year at Camp we talked about the fact that, as Christians, we are BRANDED. It means that we no longer belong to ourselves but are marked by the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The people that Paul was writing to were struggling with this so he told them to be “TRANSFORMED.” The English word “metamorphosis” comes from the Greek word for transformed and refers to someone that accurately reflects in an outward manner what is going on inwardly in their heart.
As Christians, we need to stop being conformed to the beliefs and values of the present age in which we live and be transformed to the beliefs and values of one that is a genuine follower of Jesus Christ. So what does that look like on a daily basis in terms of reading God’s Word, praying, giving, serving, spending time alone with Him, etc.?
We hope to answer this question at this year’s Summer Camp where our theme will be: Transformed – not the same anymore! We want to get to the bottom of what it means to reflect Christ in our outward behavior on a daily basis with our theme:
